Up to 150 guests across the property by combining the riverfront pavilion, two-story group cabana, air-conditioned glamping cabins, log cabins, and tent sites. Smaller groups of 20–50 are the most common — perfect for family reunions, church groups, and corporate offsites.

Do you have a covered pavilion for family reunions?

Yes. Our riverfront pavilion is covered, shaded, and sits right next to the spring-fed San Marcos River. It comfortably seats large reunion dinners and works for catered meals, ceremonies, and team breakouts.

Can we host a corporate retreat or church reunion on-site?

Yes. Corporate retreats, church reunions, youth groups, and wedding weekends regularly book the pavilion plus a cluster of air-conditioned cabins so the entire group stays on-property. Day-pass numbers are capped, so the river won't be crowded with outside guests.

Is tubing and kayaking included for groups?

No. Tubing and kayaking are not included with any cabana, cabin, or overnight stay at Son's Blue River Camp. Every guest who wants to tube or kayak adds the Ultimate River Fun Wristband ($29.99/person, shuttle included with the wristband). Large groups doing a full San Marcos River float can put in at our sister property Son's River Ranch upstream and take out at Son's Blue River Camp as one coordinated trip.

Is Son's Blue River Camp the same as the Comal or Guadalupe tubing scene?

No. We're on a quieter, family-friendly stretch of the spring-fed San Marcos River in Kingsbury, TX — not the Comal or Guadalupe party rivers. We cap day-pass numbers, don't allow public outfitter drop-offs, and the property is 8 private acres rather than open public access.

How far is Son's Blue River Camp from Austin, San Antonio, and Houston?

About 45 minutes from Austin and 50 minutes from San Antonio, 20 minutes from New Braunfels, and roughly 2.5 hours from Houston.

Is the San Marcos River safe for kids and beginners?

Yes. Our 1.5-mile stretch is gentle, spring-fed, and shaded by cypress trees — well suited to families, first-time floaters, and kids in life jackets. Lifeguards aren't on duty, so children should be supervised at all times.

Are pets allowed at Son's Blue River Camp?

Son's Blue River Camp is pet-free to keep the property quiet and family-friendly. Service animals are welcome.
